How do you fancy climbing a giant swinging ladder reaching 13 meters high over 40ft ?!
Two people work as a team and attempt to climb as high up the ladder as possible.
As the team climbs higher the challenge increases as the space between the next step gets larger.
This activity will require communication, confidence and problem solving to reach the top.
You will also learn the climbing skill of belaying ropes under the supervision of a qualified
instructor while offering encouragement to your team. You can be lowered to the ground at any time.
Not everyone will reach the top of the ladder! However you might be lucky enough to come face to
face with one of Fairburns red squirrels who now use the ladder to traverse from tree to tree.
How high can you build your crate stack ?!
The aim is to build a stack of crates as high as you can before it falls down like giant jenga.
At least one team member must be standing on the top of the crates, the higher your team
builds the crates the higher you get. There are various ways to build the tower depending
on the level of challenge required, from a base of just 2 crates with 2 people on the top
making it very unstable to a base of 4 with just one climber on the top making it easier.
The whole team is involved with building the tower and need to work together to support it
and pass more crates to whoever is on the top. This is an excellent team building activity
for corporate or school groups.
The instructors may give you a time limit or set different challenges to make it even more difficult.
If the crates topples, the climbers will be left dangling from the ropes before being safely
lowered to the ground by the instructors.
