Seasonal Instructor

Function of Work

As a Seasonal Instructor, you will be responsible for working with other

outdoor instructors and overseeing all activity operations. You will have the most

contact with customers during their activity experience.  It is therefore essential you

are polite and courteous when you meet and welcome them to Fairburn.  It is also your responsibility

to ensure the customer has a safe and fun experience.

Fairburn Activity Centre has received a certificate of excellence for the past 3 years running  from Tripadvisor.  It is therefore extremely important you work as a team member; wear the

corporate clothing provided whilst on duty; provide a professional, safe, efficient and polite

service at all times to maintain the exceptional standard of service and quality the Company

is working towards.

Fairburn Activity Centre offer a variety of different activities for all ages.  Canoeing, Raft Building,

Walk on Water Balls, Archery, Mountain Biking, Paintball, Jacobs Ladder, Bushcraft and

Zorbing are just some of the activities that we offer.

Daily Work Tasks

  1. Support the office manager with all activity related programs.
  2. Attend to construction work appropriate to outdoor activities.
  3. Teach and lead activities offered by Fairburn Activity Centre Ltd.
  4. Ensure that activity equipment is safe and serviceable before use.
  5. Advise the head instructor of current issues relating to outdoor activities.
  6. Ensure that all Safety Guidelines and Risk Assessments are adhered to.
  7. Oversee and complete all requirements of registration for the AALS.
  8. Ensure outdoor activity sessions run to timetable.
  9. Maintain equipment on activity sites.
  10. Ensure that changing rooms, showers and public toilets are cleaned, locked and     bins emptied at the end of each activity day, ready for the next day.
  11. Be a key driver of the development of new activities for the Company.
  12. In non activity time help with general maintenance in and around the main building.
  13. Assist the Domestic and Catering staff from time to time.
  14. Other duties as required as directed by the Centre/Office Manager or head instructor
  15. Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the Company’s uniform and personal                                                          hygiene policy  at all times

Position to begin in March 2019, finishing in October 2019.

40 hours per week 5 days from 7

8.20 per hour

Trainee Outdoor Instructor

Function of Work

As a Trainee Outdoor Instructor you will assist with the instruction of sessions and begin to take

responsibility for leading once experience has been gained.

You will have the most contact with customers during their activity experience.  It is therefore essential

you are polite and courteous when you meet and welcome them to Fairburn.  It is also your

responsibility to ensure the customer has a safe and fun experience.
